I took my camera off the shelf Saturday and shot some pictures of the ranch under snow (literally).
I really enjoyed taking a break from my camera, but I am also glad to have it in my hands again. It has been a very snowy and blowy winter. It is hard to see the beauty while your face is frozen and your fingers are so cold you can’t grip something, but on the days when it finally quits blowing, the raw beauty of winter comes to my attention. I realize just how beautiful winter can be in it’s own special way.
I got to practice my loader operation skills today. It took me three hours to move this pile.
This is where the wind fence used to be. See the tip of it on the left? It will be interesting to see what state the fence is in when all the snow melts although it will probably take until June. 🙂
Sometimes we just have to make it work.
Sometimes all you can do is stare in awe… and then use the other gate.
In the midst of all the wind and whiteness, the cows just keep calving away.
